Following the release of their acclaimed debut EP Tranquilize last month, this morning Melbourne three-piece Telenova took to the triple j studio to perform a special cover of Madonna’s ‘Hung Up’ for triple j’s iconic Like A Version. Joining Bryce Mills & Ebony Boadu on triple j’s Breakfast program, Telenova also performed a stunning live rendition of their debut single ‘Bones’. Watch their performances below.
On taking on triple j’s Like A Version, Telenova‘s frontwoman Angeline Armstrong shares, “We wanted to do a Like A Version that felt like a celebration of putting our first EP out this year and all the support that has come so unexpectedly – that main ABBA sample, which features in Madonna’s ‘Hung Up’, has always made me want to drop whatever I’m doing and dance around the room – honestly, the simplest way to explain the song choice, is that it makes us really happy. And we wanted people to hear it and feel happy. Maybe inspire a solo dance party or two while we’re all trying our best to dance in the face of these strange times.”
