VIDEO: BOBBY WOMACK ON LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON

Bobby Womack made a triumphant return to live television on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Bobby and his band- Damon Albarn, Richard Russell, Kwes, Remi and Jaleel Bunton- played The Bravest Man In The Universe, Jubilee and Whatever Happened To The Times from Bobby’s album The Bravest Man In The Universe. You can watch all below.

INTRODUCING: RATKING

RATKING exist as New York’s next great band. Like the Beastie Boys and Yeah Yeah Yeahs – local bands that came together as punks before developing into any sound they want – RATKING manage to mix youthful hardcore energy with pure, NY beats and rhymes in a post-hip-hop crew that could only exist in 2012.

Wiki, RATKING’s 18-year old frontman, grew up in Manhattan, playing Germs covers in his school music room (he has their motto NOGOD tattooed across his chest) in a band called the Homo-Thugs.

At 13 he was spotted in the audience by Wu Tang’s GZA and invited to come up onstage and perform, as GZA proclaimed “Wu-Tang is for the babies”. A star was born.

RATKING’s debut EP wiki93 (produced entirely by Sporting Life) will be released 19 October via Hot Charity/XL Recordings/Remote Control.

LISTEN: BOBBY WOMACK ‘LOVE IS GONNA LIFT YOU UP’ REMIX

The original ‘Love Is Gonna Lift You Up’ features on Bobby Womack’s new album The Bravest Man In The Universe. The album was produced by Damon Albarn and Richard Russell and released to widespread acclaim in June on XL Recordings.

This is a rare remix from the Bristol-based producer and DJ who’s become one of the UK’s most in demand DJs and producers. Following essential releases for a variety of labels, Bashmore recently launched his own Broadwalk Records label in fine style with the release of his own ‘Au Seve’ 12”. Bashmore also currently hosts a regular Radio One show as part of the station’s ‘In New DJs We Trust’ (tune in for the next one on Thursday 19th July)
