Palma Violets have shared the official video for current single “On The Beach,” taken from their second album Danger In The Club which was released earlier this year on Rough Trade / Remote Control. The clip was shot on East Wittering Beach in West Sussex and is a nod to Captain Beefheart and The Magic Band’s 1968 performance on the beach in Cannes, France.
On the making of the video, Sam Fryer of the band explains: “Our friend, long-term collaborator and creator of the original Best of Friends video Jim Tobias returned to direct the “On The Beach” video for us. We wanted to create something live, simple, intense and low-grade with a summertime feel, but in a very British and overcast way.”
Belle & Sebastian have announced the release of ‘The Third Eye Centre’ – a collection of rarities, collectibles and non-LP tracks from the last decade – on 26th August on Rough Trade Records/Remote Control in Australia. The album will be available to buy on CD, download and as a double heavyweight vinyl in deluxe heavy gatefold packaging.
All tracks on the album are B-sides and offcuts taken from the period when the band recorded their last three albums – 2003’s ‘Dear Catastrophe Waitress’, 2006’s ‘The Life Pursuit’ and 2010’s ‘Write About Love’.
The album includes one brand new track ‘Your Cover’s Blown (Miaoux Miaoux Remix)’, which is available to listen to online now:
