Palma Violets share Christmas single ‘Last Christmas on Planet Earth’

Palma Violets have come to spread the Christmas cheer by sharing their single ‘Last Christmas on Planet Earth’

‘Last Christmas On Planet Earth’ follows in the snowy footprints of other Rough Trade Christmas classics, including Low, Julian Casablancas, Sufjan Stevens and Super Furry Animals.

Have a look at Palma Violets’ website here to find the band’s own advent calendar with covers, poems and other festive treats from some very well known bands as well as the band themselves.

Palma Violets are currently on the road with The Vaccines & The Big Moon followed by a European run with Florence & The Machine. Read a review of their Australian tour from this July here.

Palma Violets share new video!

Palma Violets have shared the official video for current single “On The Beach,” taken from their second album Danger In The Club which was released earlier this year on Rough Trade / Remote Control. The clip was shot on East Wittering Beach in West Sussex and is a nod to Captain Beefheart and The Magic Band’s 1968 performance on the beach in Cannes, France.

On the making of the video, Sam Fryer of the band explains: “Our friend, long-term collaborator and creator of the original Best of Friends video Jim Tobias returned to direct the “On The Beach” video for us. We wanted to create something live, simple, intense and low-grade with a summertime feel, but in a very British and overcast way.”
