Spoon announce two intimate in-store appearances to precede their shows in Sydney and Melbourne this month. The band will appear at Redeye Records in Sydney on Wednesday 22nd March, and at Polyester Records in Melbourne on Friday 24th March on the eve of their shows at The Metro Theatre and The Croxton Bandroom. The Redeye Records performance will be an all ages event, first in best dressed on the day.
The in-store appearances by Britt Daniel and Alex Fischel will grant select audiences a rare glimpse of Spoon’s new record Hot Thoughts.
“I love going down to Australia, but it seems we’re never able to stay for long, so I rented a house in Collingwood outside Melbourne for three weeks. That’s where most of the songs on the new record got their start. I brought a bunch of unfinished songs with me. When I got down there, I was more excited about coming up with all new stuff. I’m not sure if it’s just the AC/DC connection or what. Australia just seems like this other world.
