Interpol’s new album Marauder, is out today. To celebrate they have released the Kristen Stewart and Finn Wittrock starring video for storming new single and album opener, ‘If You Really Love Nothing’. Watch below!
Directed by Hala Matar, the visual channels the songs’ nocturnal allure, with Sam Fogarino’s galloping, swing-infused drums, Daniel Kessler’s mesmerising guitar interplay, and Paul Banks’ soulful, spectral falsetto and lyrics evoking a doomed romance coming together to a hypnotic crescendo.
“Hala is a young director I had the pleasure of meeting a few years ago, and I’ve been a big fan of her short film work since,” says Paul Banks. “Her luscious use of colours and lighting, her insightful dialogue and playful direction, for me, are her hallmarks. There’s always humour, drama and atmosphere to spare in her work. I see all of these qualities in her video for ‘If You Really Love Nothing’.
