Interpol return with a second single from their upcoming album Marauder (out August 24), the unpolished and gritty ‘Number 10’. Listen below!
One of the loosest and most spontaneous tracks on the album, the song tells the story of a secret office romance between Ella, a domineering boss, and her employee. Their pent-up desire is matched by the song’s anxious tone, with its surf-inspired bassline, dueling guitars, and punchy percussion building up to an unrestrained, yearning finale.
In 2017 Daniel Kessler, Paul Banks, and Sam Fogarino worked on a new album inside the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ rehearsal space in Manhattan. The result is Marauder, available for pre-order here.
Opening themselves up to the input of a producer, Interpol travelled to upstate New York to work with Dave Fridmann at his remote and frequently snowbound Tarbox Studios.
