SASKWATCH SIGN WITH REMOTE CONTROL RECORDS FOR NEW ALBUM NOSE DIVE

Every band has a story, but few can say they have gone from busking on the streets to gracing the stage at Glastonbury in just four years. Saskwatch, however, are the exception to the rule. It was at Melbourne’s notorious Cherry Bar that the 9-piece cut their teeth and established their reputation as one of Australia’s most electrifying live acts.

Today Remote Control Records is thrilled to announce the signing of Saskwatch to its current Australian roster which includes Courtney Barnett, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Teeth & Tongue, Sunbeam Sound Machine, Dirty Three, Mick Turner, Midnight Juggernauts, Miami Horror & many more.

After the astounding success of the bands most recent single ’Hands’, which received significant triple j& community radio airplay in the closing months of 2013, Saskwatch are back with new single ‘Born To Break Your Heart’ and the announcement of the release of their sophomore album Nose Dive in April this year.

Premiered by Richard Kingsmill on his 2014 program last night ‘Born To Break Your Heart’ is a down tempo slow burning ballad with a hook that traps itself inside your mind with ease. Of the new single trumpet player, guitarist & main songwriter Liam McGorry says “We recorded BTBYH with Magoo in his converted church studio Applewood Lane in Fernvale QLD, it’s about a darker side of relationships and losing control.”

Saskwatch’s second LP Nose Dive will be released via Northside Records / Remote Control on Friday 11th April 2014, more details on the record will follow in the coming weeks including an intriguing video clip for ‘Born To Break Your Heart‘. In the meantime the band will hit the road playing a bunch of special festival appearances over the coming months including WOMADelaidePanama FestivalBluesfest Byron Bay.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE RELEASE ‘THE VAMPYRE OF TIME OF MEMORY’ INTERACTIVE VIDEO

Queens Of The Stone Age and The Creators Project, a partnership between Intel and VICE, have unveiled the interactive video for ‘The Vampyre Of Time And Memory’. This bold production, directed by Kii Arens and Jason Trucco and designed and developed by Darknet, re-imagines the classic music video in the context of a virtual art installation distinguished by horror, weird beauty, and surrealism, and pushes the boundaries of creative expression. More than that, Joshua Homme and the band’s commanding performance is simply not to be missed.

In addition to the tri-level interactive video, Arens and Trucco have a offered up a Director’s Cut incorporating elements of all three visual stagings:

The Vampyre Of Time And Memory,’ produced by The Creators Project, is another milestone in a banner year for Queens Of The Stone Age. From the jaw-dropping Boneface animated videos that heralded the release of the band’s Australian & US #1 album …Like Clockwork (Matador/Remote Control) to the still-going largest tour in Queens’ history – upcoming gigs include co-headline Australian tour with Nine Inch Nails.
