Mikey describes the track: “I met Jess. She was super funny and off kilter. She said do a remix for me and make me sound like Donna Summer. The song has been released to support the Paris climate conference and tackles the issue of global boiling and collapsing biodiversity.
As discussed by ANOHNI, “I have grown tired of grieving for humanity, and I also thought I was not being entirely honest by pretending that I am not a part of the problem,” she said. “‘4 DEGREES’ is kind of a brutal attempt to hold myself accountable, not just valorize my intentions, but also reflect on the true impact of my behaviors.”
Wild Nothing, a.k.a Brooklyn-based musician Jake Tatum, is pleased to announce his third-studio album, ‘Life of Pause’, will be released Friday 19th February via Captured Tracks / Remote Control Records.
Watch the first two cuts from from the album; ‘TV Queen’ and ‘To Know You,’ both of which can be streamed via the video link below.
When Jack Tatum began work on Life of Pause he had fascinating ambitions. “I desperately wanted for this to be the kind of record that would displace me,” he says. “I’m terrified by the idea of being any one thing, or being of any one genre. And whether or not I accomplish that, I know that my only hope of getting there is to constantly reinvent. That reinvention doesn’t need to be drastic, but every new record has to have it’s own identity, and it has to have a separate set of goals from what came before.”
Life of Pauseis an exquisitely arranged and beautifully recorded collection of songs that marry the immediate with the indefinable. “I allowed myself to go down every route I could imagine even if it ended up not working for me,” he says. “I owe it to myself to take as many risks as possible. Songs are songs and you have to allow yourself to be open to everything.”
