84000 was recorded and mixed by Popov in collaboration with three of Melbourne’s finest producers,Nick Huggins, J Walker (Machine Translations) and Joe Hammond and is due for release in early 2014.
84000 is an album about our addiction to dreaming and the stories we tell ourselves – about delusions and what we use them to get away from. It’s about our physical bodies and how they house our perfection, our hollowness, our sexuality, our desire, our addictions and the search for freedom and connection.
The title – 84000 refers to the number of holes, or pores in the body according to Chinese Medicine. It also is an important number in Buddhism – the Buddha had 84000 teachings to remedy the 84000 afflictions, or delusions one could suffer from.
Hello Satellites – 84000 will be released in March 2014 via
