WARPAINT ANNOUNCE SECOND ALBUM + STREAM NEW SINGLE ‘LOVE IS TO DIE’

Rough Trade & Remote Control Records are excited to announce the full details of WARPAINT’s new self-titled album, set for release in Australia on Friday 17th January 2014. WARPAINT is the follow-up to the LA four-piece’s critically acclaimed debut album The Fool (2010).

WARPAINT is a Los Angeles based quartet comprised of Emily Kokal (vocals/guitar), Jenny Lee Lindberg (bass/vocals), Theresa Wayman (guitar/vocals), and Stella Mozgawa (drums). To say that this follow-up is “highly anticipated” is an understatement considering the reception that their debut received when it was released at the end of 2010, and the excitement at their recent sold-out shows in New York and LA. Warpaint was co-produced by Warpaint and Flood (PJ Harvey, Sigur Ros, New Order, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Foals), and mixed by Flood and Nigel Godrich (Radiohead). The album was conceived after some writing and recording sessions that took place in The Joshua Tree late last year. Here the band was joined by visionary director Chris Cunningham who has partnered with them for many of the album visuals including the cover. He has spent the past two years filming and photographing the band as they made Warpaint.

WILLIS EARL BEAL PRESENTS “CHURCH OF NOBODY” – 8 PART PERFORMATIVE SERIES

Willis Earl Beal is the minister of the Church Of Nobody, an 8-part series featuring filmed musical performances. This episodic series will premiere today at 12noon EST via http://churchofnobody.com

Each 20-minute episode features a performance by a single artist and that artist will introduce themselves and be the guide for the viewer throughout each segment. The series launches with the first 2 episodes.

Episode 1 features Willis Earl Beal performing songs from his recently released album Nobody knows. with his new band. Nobody knows. features 13 songs that combine Beal’s soul baring vocals with sounds and arrangements rooted in everything from orchestral blues to ambient r&b, gentle lullabies to pure cacophony. Willis has also become known for his stunning live performances.

Episode 2 features King Krule. He recorded this episode in the midst of his first run of U.S. dates supporting his debut album 6 Feet Beneath The Moon.
