Palma Violets will release their debut album on Friday 22nd Feburary 2013 via Rough Trade Records / Remote Control. The album – the title and tracklisting of which will be revealed shortly – is currently being recorded at London’s RAK studios with Pulp’s Steve Mackey.

Palma Violets formed in 2011 and cut their teeth playing gigs at their Lambeth art studio/squat Studio 180 before going on the road with Savages followed by a sold out UK tour and a string of festivals including Reading + Leeds, Secret Garden Party and Bestival. Last month they released their debut single ‘Best of Friends’ / ‘Last of the Summer Wine’on limited edition CD single and purple vinyl, which was chosen as Radio 1 Zane Lowe’s ‘Hottest Record in the World’ and ‘Next Hype’.

The band recently performed ‘Best Of Friends’ on Later… With Jools Holland. Watch below:

Vampire Weekend have announced an exclusive headline show at Sydney’s Metro Theatre, coinciding with the band’s Big Day Out performances.

Across two critically acclaimed albums, Vampire Weekend has perfected an anthology of songs filled with their signature horns and strings, dreamy vocal harmonies and upbeat indie charm.

First making their name on the scene with their eponymous debut album Vampire Weekend, the LP scored an 8.8 rating on Pitchfork, four spots in Triple J’s Hottest 100 Countdown of 2008 and sold more than 800,000 copies worldwide.

Their Grammy nominated sophomore release Contra followed, introducing the band’s dedicated fans to new favourites like ‘Cousins’, ‘Horchata’, ‘Giving Up The Gun’ and ‘White Sky’. This record cemented Vampire Weekend as one of the seminal artists of recent times, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Chart and selling more than half a million copies in America alone.

For the past year, Vampire Weekend have taken their time to create and sharpen the songs that will become their yet to be released third studio album. The quartet have been pursuing different projects, gaining inspiration and experiences that they will inevitably compile together for a fresh perspective on a sound that is uniquely their own.

Those lucky enough to attend Vampire Weekend’s Sydney show will be treated to one of the first tastes of the quartet’s latest offering. While there is still no official word on the LP’s release, the band debuted the track ‘Unbelievers’ on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this month to the delight of Vampire Weekend lovers across the globe.

Don’t miss the chance to snap up a ticket to what is set to be a mesmerising performance from Vampire Weekend. With the promise of new material, classic crowd singalongs and toe tapping tracks on their way, tickets to this show are sure to sell swiftly.

Returning from an eventful CMJ appearance and string of shows in NYC, Teeth & Tongue is back on home turf, playing shows in Melbourne and Sydney this week to celebrate the release of new single and video ‘The Party Is You’.

Together with band members Marc Regueiro-McKelvie and Damian Sullivan, Teeth & Tongue (AKA Jess Cornelius) will play a set of brand new, unreleased material full of oddball drum machine rhythms, guitars that sound like synths and synths that sound like guitars, all washed over with that distinctive voice.

On the making of the video for ‘The Party Is You’ Jess Cornelius says, “I put a call out on Twitter to see if anyone would be up for making us a free video, and Alifeleti was one of the directors who put their hand up. Originally I thought the weird drunk girl in the clip would be me, but luckily we found someone else to do it so I didn’t have to. The main idea was for her to be trying to get random strangers to dance with her. It morphed into her getting kicked out of lots of bars and parties, but I think she’s still endearing.”
