SUGAR MOUNTAIN SATELLITE EVENTS ANNOUNCED 12 – 21 JANUARY 2012

Sugar Mountain is excited to launch its 2012 SATELLITE EVENT program.

Complementing the Sugar Mountain Festival, held at the Forum Theatre in Melbourne on Saturday 14 January 2012, will be eight inspiring satellite events – spanning film screenings, exhibitions and art installations, presented by a group of forward thinking contemporary artists.

The Sugar Mountain satellite events will take over Melbourne CBD from Thursday 12 January to Saturday 21 January 2012, utilising the cities most prominent locations including No Vacancy Gallery, Federation Square, ACMI, Polyester Records, Rooftop Cinema and Chapter House Lane.

“Sugar Mountain 2012 will feature a week of extended and involved side events, exploring forward thinking contemporary art from alternative backgrounds”, says Festival Creative Director Pete Keen.

“The viewer will be offered an exciting open doorway into the artists practice, also allowing a one-on-one experience through artist workshops and discussions. Come get involved”.

The satellite event program features contemporary artists from near and abroad, including Maya Hayuk (USA), Vincent Moon (FRA), Keith Deverell (AUS), Chaco Kato (JAP), Dylan Martorell (AUS) and Kyle Ranson (USA).
